Right people, wrong time. Why is my timing in life always off?
q u e s t i o n:
Hi Jen! I am nearing the end of college (I am 21). My question/problem is: I feel like I'm always meeting people at the wrong time and doing things at the wrong time in my life. For ex, meeting guys that would have been great for me 2 years ago, starting part-time jobs when I feel like I should have started them years ago, traveling/experiencing the world at a time when I wasn't ready for it, and just arriving to "places" (in the larger sense) either too early or too late in life.
Does that make any sense at all? How do I start making the right choices at the right time and attracting what/who is right for me at the appropriate time? I was wondering if you've ever felt this way and how you would handle it? Thanks so much :)
Hey!
Yes I totally get what you’re saying and I’ve been there! It seems like every guy has been “wrong timing” for me (lol). However I think the most important thing is trusting in life, the universe, God ... or whatever you believe in.
I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and everyone comes into your life at certain times to teach you lessons, to challenge you, to help you grow. Nothing and no one you encounter is a mistake... nor is the timing. If you were dating that guy that would have been perfect for you years ago, then he’s simply not for you and was only meant to be a stepping stone to something better!
It’s very normal at your age (and any age really) to feel lost, unbalanced, unsure of life’s timing. However it’s important to not focus on everything that’s going “wrong”, or things happening at “the wrong time”… because you tend to attract MORE of what you are constantly thinking about.
There isn't always a "right choice" or "right decision" because life has a way of throwing curveballs at you righttt when you think you have it all figured out. This is why it's more enjoyable to just go with the flow, work on growing as a person and doing things to better yourself, don't resist what you can't control... and you'll attract the right things. I know it sounds cheesy cliche and wishy washy, but it's true!
In short I'd say to switch your perspective to a more positive one, ENJOY the journey and trust in the process of life-- it’s ALL unfolding the way it’s supposed to even if it doesn't feel like it at the time!
I hope this helps a bit =)
